The best place to get your first magic trick is in the local magic shop. Talk to the magician in the shop and try asking him questions on magic. Request him to display one or two tricks to you. Magicians are generally helpful towards beginners.
Magicians never repeat tricks to the same audience. There’s a reason for that. It is because during the first-time you show the trick, the viewers doesn’t expect what the effect is. It puts an element of surprise to the trick. Whenever you repeat it, the element of surprise isn’t there. The viewers will now aim to work out your trick instead of just enjoying it. They’ll know what you are going to do next since they have observed it before. This what makes the trick becomes boring.
Here are some ideas:
a. Always practice your magic. Allocate a bit of time everyday to practice.
b. If you’re attempting to videotape your act, you should make sure there are not any mirrors around you since they change views also it maybe not the same as what the viewers sees.
c. Ask other magicians to take a look at you perform then request for feedback. This is a great way to improve.
d. Master one trick first before learning a new one.
e. Anywhere you’re going, make it a habit to bring magic props. Take some coins and also a pack of cards together with you with the intention that whenever you have free time, you can use it to practice the tricks.
